Getting to Chehalis/Centralia
Out of the area guests can fly into Portland or Seattle. From both cities, Centralia and Chehalis are a 1½ hour drive or train ride. Amtrak Cascades has four trains a day from both cities to Centralia. See below for schedules, but be sure to visit their website for the most up to date schedules. We weren't able to get a group discount on Amtrak; however, Amtrak provides a 10% discount for Triple A Members, and a 15% discount for seniors.
Coming from Portland
The MAX will take you right from the airport to downtown Portland. To catch the MAX from the airport, exit from the last door on the right to find their ticket kiosk. Trains run frequently and regularly. Check out their website to help you plan your trip. To get to Portland's Union Station (800 NW Sixth Ave. Union Station Portland, OR 97209), you can either take a short bus or taxi ride.
If you do take the train up to Centralia, be sure to give yourself enough time on your departure day to get from Centralia to downtown Portland (1½ hours) to the airport, (another half hour at the most by car, about 50 minutes by public transportation).
